Rouen Cathedral
The theme for this project was inspired by Monet's work, namely the Cathedral of Rouen. Monet's work consists of a large number of paintings depicting the facade of Rouen Cathedral and various light moods. In my work I used the technique of gum printing to work with photography and create different moods using paint and brush strokes. And revealed a self-portrait perhaps even more intimate than a face photograph - a printscreen of my notebook desktop. I was struck by how many portraits, selfie and faces can be seen today, but nobody lets you look into your mobile or laptop. It is also a game between today's technique and the technique of the last century. In light of allusions to using different colors, I chose a printscreen with an error message that failed to set the correct color settings.
